Student argumentation skills’ analysis on the discussion of socio-scientific issues in the concept of viruses

<span>This study aimed to analyze the argumentation skills of students in learning through discussion socio-scientific issues with concept viruses. This research is descriptive which describes quality oral and written arguments. The was conducted class X MIPA at SMAN Jakarta. There were 34 involved this study. method analysis determine pattern arguments used Toulmin Analysis. collaborative Erduran's framework. Meanwhile, individual Dawson Venville's analysis. results showed that students' reached level 5. means have been able make a claim accompanied by warrant rebuttal quite well. reaches levels 2 3. consist form claims (claims) guarantors (warrants) evidence (data) rebuttals are still weak.. augmentation process verbally collaboratively has highest level, but individually writing it moderate level.</span>
